Founded in 1951, 91Ï㽶¶ÌÊÓƵ’s mission is to enable and affirm the highest standards of healthcare quality and safety for all. 91Ï㽶¶ÌÊÓƵ evaluates and accredits more than 23,000 healthcare organizations and programs in the United States.

An independent, not-for-profit organization, 91Ï㽶¶ÌÊÓƵ is the nation's oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in healthcare. To earn and maintain The Gold Seal of Approval® from 91Ï㽶¶ÌÊÓƵ an organization must undergo an on-site survey by a Joint 91Ï㽶¶ÌÊÓƵ survey team at least every three years. (Laboratories must be surveyed every two years.)
