91Ï㽶¶ÌÊÓƵ relies on a number of advisory groups for feedback on a variety of issues, including safety and quality of care, the development of standards, and policies and procedures that support performance improvement in health care organizations. 91Ï㽶¶ÌÊÓƵ also uses task forces and expert panels on an ad hoc basis.
Accreditation Program Advisory Councils
The Accreditation Program Advisory Councils are an integral part of 91Ï㽶¶ÌÊÓƵ’s advisory structure. Comprised of individuals with expertise in each field 91Ï㽶¶ÌÊÓƵ accredits, the Advisory Council’s objective is to assist in driving 91Ï㽶¶ÌÊÓƵ's mission of evaluating health care organizations and inspiring them to excel in providing safe and effective care of the highest quality and value through our accreditation programs. The councils provide valuable input on accreditation products, services, and activities of the Joint 91Ï㽶¶ÌÊÓƵ enterprise to promote patient safety and quality within the components of all health care organizations.
Health Systems Corporate Liaisons
Provides advice on issues related to the accreditation process. Most members are clinicians representing approximately 80 health care systems and more than 60% of the hospitals.
Nursing Advisory Council
The Nursing Advisory Council counsels senior leadership at 91Ï㽶¶ÌÊÓƵ on present and evolving nursing- and patient care-related issues that are impacting health care quality and patient safety. The group shares with senior leadership perspectives on Joint 91Ï㽶¶ÌÊÓƵ initiatives and identifies ways in which the impacts of recent and planned future changes in Joint 91Ï㽶¶ÌÊÓƵ standards, measures, and survey processes can be optimized relative to nursing and patient care across the care continuum.
Patient and Family Advisory Council
A diverse group of nationally prominent individuals and organizations serve on 91Ï㽶¶ÌÊÓƵ’s Patient and Family Advisory Council.
Patient Safety Advisory Group
The Patient Safety Advisory Group is comprised of nurses, physicians, pharmacists, risk managers and other professionals who have hands-on experience in addressing patient safety issues in a wide variety of health care settings.
